The urge to travel is the desire to learn. For Matthew Patrick Smyth, travel is an education for his eye and the starting point for the visual vocabulary that defines his aesthetic choices. While his work takes him on monthly trips to Europe, it's his travels in Cambodia, Vietnam, Morocco, Egypt and beyond that provide inspiration for his interiors. Join him for an insightful presentation where he'll share stories of his travels and discuss how influences from around the world infuse his classical style.

Smyth is widely considered one of the country's top designers, having received that distinguished honor from House Beautiful, Traditional Home, New York and Gotham magazines and his projects have been featured in countless publications including Elle Décor, House & Garden and Traditional Home. He brings his unique sense of style to his new collection of wovens and prints for Schumacher. Whether designing small-scale projects or full residences, Smyth is known throughout the industry as a consummate professional whose work style meshes with all types of clients.
